Cannon Falls, MN Real EstateCannon Falls is located 44 miles southeast of the Twin Cities along U.S. Highway 52 in the Cannon River Valley. Lake Byllesby Regional Park features a swimming beach, hiking trails, campground and picnic shelter. Cannon Falls is a lovely, primarily residential community whose closest big neighbor is Northfield, about 16 miles away. Here, residents can find mall shopping, big box retail and a bevy of commercial dining options as well a larger variety of arts and entertainment opportunities. Local's Notebook:Local Flavor: Delectable, upscale dining at McArthur's Wood Grill at the Gopher Hills golf course; Stonemill Coffeehouse and Eatery featuring homemade soups and salads, full menu and specialty coffees. Mill Street Tavern is located in a beautifully restored 1903 building and features lunch and dinner menus, burgers, appetizers and desserts as well as the full service bar. Area Shopping: Cannon Falls has a wealth of shopping in its Downtown district, from specialty gift shops to antiques to a winery featuring wine tastings, guided tours of the winery and walking tours of the vineyard in the nearby Sogn Valley. Around Town: Cannon Falls offers nearly 30 acres of parks and recreational facilities, most located along the Cannon River corridor and connected by the Cities' paved biking and running trails. The system is ideal for a bike ride, skate, walk or picnic. The Cannon River provides excellent opportunities for canoeing, tubing or kayaking.
